Dottie Ray
Dottie Ray, the longtime host of The Dottie Ray Show on CCCM+E's KXIC 800 AM, has decided to retire. Dottie's last day on-air will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

Ray has hosted her 15 minute radio show that has aired from her home each weekday.

The Dottie Ray Show airs weekday mornings from 8:45 – 9:00 a.m. She began broadcasting her fifteen-minute program back in 1950 and for the past 64 years she has informed listeners about local organizations, artists and events. Dottie has interviewed thousands of guests over the years, always focusing her program on the Iowa City community and non-profit organizations.

To celebrate her contributions to the community, AM-800 KXIC will be broadcasting one final interview with Dottie Ray, flipping the microphone around to ask Dottie about her career. KXIC Morning Host Jay Capron will conduct the interview on Tuesday, May 13, at 8:45 a.m. The entire 9 a.m. hour will be dedicated to Dottie Ray, with several special surprises planned for the program.

"She is an amazing lady, a very passionate and involved broadcaster," said JJ Cook, Operations Manager for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Iowa City. "Dottie is a true Iowa City icon and I'm lucky to have had the pleasure of working with for the past 11 years."
