Jax Radio: XL's Frank Frangie New Voice Of Jags

Longtime voice of the Jaguars Brian Sexton is changing roles with the team, and local sports radio personality Frank Frangie will take Sexton's place calling radio play-by-play for games this season, according to news4jax.com.

Sexton will become a senior correspondent with the Jaguars' digital media group, serving as a reporter, writer, developer and editor of content for jaguars.com and the Jaguars’ social media platforms.

“I’m thrilled about returning to the Jaguars and am excited for this new opportunity,” Sexton said in a news release from the team. “This is a career change for me, and I welcome the challenge of helping to grow the Jaguars’ fan base through digital and social efforts.”

Sexton has been the Jaguars' radio play-by-play voice since the team's inaugural season and has also hosted most of the team’s radio and TV shows.

Frank Frangie
Frangie, who has been and will continue to be an on-air talk show host at the Jaguars’ new flagship radio station WJWL 1010 AM XL Radio, will join analysts Jeff Lageman and Tony Boselli in the booth this season to call Jaguars play-by-play.

Frangie, a Jacksonville native and a 1980 graduate of the University of Florida, is in his 26th consecutive year as a talk show host in Jacksonville.

Rick Ballou, who has been paired with Frangie for their afternoon talk show for the past five and-a-half years on 1010 XL, will serve as field reporter for the Jaguars’ game broadcasts. Ballou is a Florida State graduate and has been in sports radio for 20 years, including seven at Sporting News Radio in Chicago. He also previously worked for PGA Tour Communications.
