Paul McCartney Cancels Concerts Due To Illness

Paul McCartney has canceled the rest of his Japanese tour — including a show at the famed Nippon Budokan, where the Beatles played in 1966 — due to poor health, MTV reports.  According to Rolling Stone, the former Beatle is under doctor's orders for "complete rest" in order to ward off a suspected virus.

In a statement, organizer Kyodo Tokyo said McCartney "will regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows. Paul is still not feeling better and this cancellation is unavoidable".

The virus already forced McCartney to postpone a handful of shows, and in a previously released statement, the musician said he was "really looking forward to playing Japan again." He continued, "Unfortunately my condition has not improved overnight. I was really hoping that I'd be feeling better today. I'm so disappointed and sorry to be letting my fans down."
