Philly Radio: WMGK Auctions 'Can't Buy Experiences'


Classic Rock WMGK 102.9 FM and morning host John DeBella (weekdays 6a-9a) are getting a head start on raising funds to support local veterans for this year’s 8th Annual DeBella Veterans Radiothon.

The station has set up a series of eBay auctions, accessible via wmgk.com,  featuring front row tickets, autographed items & money can’t buy experiences with artists like: Ringo Starr, Aerosmith, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Heart, Rod Stewart & more.

The auctions begins today and end at various times on Thursday, June 12. All funds raised will go to the Veterans Multi-Service Center(VMC) in Philadelphia. The VMC’s mission is to provide services, programs, opportunity and advancement to veterans and their families.

This year’s Veterans Radiothon will take place on Friday, June 13 from 6a to 6p.  DeBella will broadcast live from outside of the National Constitution Center.

He’ll be joined by famous musicians, celebrities and athletes during his broadcast.  Over the past seven years WMGK and John DeBella have raised over $500,000 for the VMC via the annual veterans Radiothon.

The VMC’s mission is to provide services, programs, opportunity and advancement to Veterans and their families.  Each year they serve 2,500 individual veterans, provide over 172,000 meals to homeless veterans, place over 300 veterans in jobs, and place over 500 veterans in housing.
