Alpha Media Closes On Mainline Stations

Alpha Broadcasting & L&L Broadcasting announced Tuesday that they have officially merged, becoming Alpha Media. Corporate headquarters for the company will remain in Portland, OR, where it operates six stations.

Alpha headquarters remain in Portland and operates 43 stations in seven markets. L&L has been overseeing the operation of the Portland stations for the last year under a management agreement with Alpha.

L&L Broadcasting has also announced that the purchase of 19 radio stations from Main Line Broadcasting for $57 million has closed. Main Line Broadcasting operated 19 stations in four markets including Louisville, Richmond VA, Dayton and Hagerstown, MD-Chambersburg, PA.

Chairman Larry Wilson, an investor in each company, said that "The merger of Portland's Alpha operation into our newly created Alpha Media results in one Company operating all markets. Our Live and Local Vision continues to be our focus, and now with adding the former Main Line markets we can continue to develop our footprint with four attractive markets operated by great radio people. We are excited to add them to our growing company."
