True Oldies Channel Goes Online

Radio Personality Scott Shannon has decided to keep his  True Oldies Channel alive...online.

Westwood One ended distribution of Scott Shannon's True Oldies channel yesterday.  Shannon, morning host at WCBS 101.1 FM in NYC, has decided to keep playin' the oldies online for now.  He hinted the format might soon return to broadcast radio.

In a Facebook posting, Shannon directs followers to TrueOldiesChannel.com, where his blend of mostly '60s and '70s hits streams commercial-free.

"We didn't have much time to get something together after we found out that we were getting tossed off the radio," Shannon stated. "However, we did manage to get everything needed to set up our own internet station on short notice!"

Not long after he left Cumulus Media-owned hot AC WPLJ 95.5 FMin February and joined CBS Radio classic hits WCBS-FM, Westwood One announced plans to transition the nearly 100 stations carrying the True Oldies format to its Good Time Oldies format.
