Phoenix Radio: Beth McDonald Celebrates 30-Years At KESZ

Beth McDonald
Most radio personalities have transitory careers, moving from market to market, station to station. Then there's Beth McDonald, who will celebrated 30 years at CCM+E's KESZ 99,9 FM 99-9 KEZ on Thursday.

Not only is McDonald still a star — "Listeners treat her like royalty," producer and co-host Chad Mitchell says — she is also a trailblazer. After all, morning radio still is predominantly a man's game, with women usually relegated to supporting roles.

McDonald's enduring popularity can be attributed to several factors. She's charming, funny and remarkably candid. She shares a lot of her life with the public, whether it's a divorce or the death of her former on-air partner, Bill Austin.

In an interview with azcentral.com, she shared highlights from her life and career. Click Here

  1. I had left the area for awhile & when I came back noticed that Chad was no longer part of your morning show. What happened to him?
