FCC Anticipating Court Action Over Net Neutrality

The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission said on Friday that the agency was taking its time formulating a net neutrality policy because he wanted to be able to defend the rules against an inevitable court challenge, which he expects whatever policy the commission approves. reports The NY Times.

“The big dogs are going to sue regardless of what comes out,” the chairman, Tom Wheeler, told reporters after the F.C.C.’s monthly public meeting. “We need to make sure we have sustainable rules and that starts with making sure that we have addressed the multiplicity of issues that come along.”
