Atlanta Radio: Cindy Simmons OUT At WSTR

Drex, Cassiday
Star 94 morning host Cindy Simmons, who started at the station in 2003 as an afternoon host with Ray Mariner and moved to mornings in 2009, has been let go in favor of a brand new morning show consisting of two Charlotte personalities and a third from Philadelphia.

Drex and Cassiday are exiting Beasley Broadcasting's Top40 WNKS 95.1 FM Kiss in Charlotte for Lincoln Fincancial's (soon to be Entercom) HotAC WSTR 94.1 FM Star94 for a 5:30 to 9am morning show. (Apparently Drex's cohost Maney will remain in Charlotte.)

“Months of energy were spent to find the right combination of talent that packs the gear to do battle in Atlanta morning radio,” said Scott Lindy, director of operations for Star 94

Lundy indicated Rob Stadler will remain for  news  and Casey will still handle traffic. No start date has been announced.

Steve Tingle was part of a three-person team at CBS Radio's Top40 WRDW 96.5 Wired in Philly with Chunky and Ghia.  Previously, Tingle was partner with or Brian Sherman atQ101 in Chicago.
