Orlando Radio: WOTW Drops Bubba Among Anemic Ratings

Well, that didn't last long.  After just about two months, Country WOTW 103.1 FM The Wolf has dropped the syndicated Bubba The Love Sponge Show.

President/CEO at JVC Broadcasting John Caracciolo told RadioInk, "Yes we took Bubba off. We love Bubba and the entire Bubba the Love Sponge show. Their show is extremely successful for us in Ocala and West Palm Beach and we plan on growing JVC with Bubba and his team."

"The listeners of Orlando never had a radio choice when it came to country music and that's what they told us they wanted, a real country music choice in the morning. As the only live and local radio company in Orland, we spoke with the Bubba team and we all agreed this was the right choice to make for our first FM property in this very unique radio market."

The change came on PPM Day in Orlando. With Bubba in AM Drive, WOTW placed #23 (6+ AQH) registering a 0.8 in January and 0.9 in February.  Cox Media Groups, heritage Country WWKA 92.3 FM K92 placed seventh with a 5.5 in Jan. and a 5.4 in Feb.

Bubba debuted on WOTW in mid-January. Mornings on The Wolf are now jockless.

Bubba remains on-air at  JVC's WTRS My Country 102.3 FM in Gainesville-Ocala, FL and WBGF 93.5 FM The Bar in West Palm Beach.

  1. What? No pathetic calls for "Bubba Army - Bubba Army"? Or a veiled threat to someone involved that he "has something that he's gonna spill .... soon!" if he doesn't like what you say and or do?" (which always turns out to be a crock of sh*t anyway). Not surprising that he's out, but what is interesting is that this tired "shock jock" from circa 1995 is still on ANY radio station. It's amazing actually!
