TV News Ratings: NBC Back On Top 25-54

NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt was America’s most-watched evening newscast for the week of February 23-27, 2015, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The NBC broadcast was #1 in total viewers and the A25-54 and A18-49 demos.

According to TVByTheNumbers, Season-to-date, Nightly is the #1 evening news program in total viewers and all key demographics. Nightly is averaging 9.400 million total viewers this season, leading ABC by +6% (+559,000) and CBS by +27% (+1.972 million). Nightly’s 1.625 million A18-49 viewers leads ABC by +10% (+143,000) and CBS by +35% (+424,000) this season. Nightly is averaging 2.246 million A25-54 viewers season-to-date, topping ABC by +2% (+38,000) and CBS by +26% (+457,000).



Weekly Highlights:
  • Nightly averaged 9.671 million total viewers, leading ABC World News Tonight by +198,000 and CBS Evening News by +1.644 million.
  • On Monday, Nightly posted the biggest audience of the week with 10.399 million viewers.
  • Nightly averaged 2.463 million A25-54 viewers, topping ABC by +90,000 and CBS by +507,000.
  • Nightly delivered a 2.1 A25-54 rating, +1 tenth more than ABC and +5 tenths more than CBS.
  • On Thursday, Nightly posted its second biggest demo win of the season, beating ABC by +471,000 A25-54 viewers (best since 1/5/2015).
