San Diego: PD Charlie Quinn Leaving KYXY-FM

Charlie Quinn
CBS Radio/San Diego has announced the resignation of Charlie Quinn program director for KYXY 96.5 FM.

The longtime programmer resigned after 16-years to devote more time to his family in Florida.

Chris Patyk, PD of sister Top40 KEGY 103.7 FM will oversee KYXY, with Music Director Mark Blackwell taking on a greater role in the day to day programming.

CBS Radio San Diego Market Manager Bob Bolinger issued the following memo:
It is with much sadness that I tell you Charlie Quinn is resigning as Program Director of KyXy to devote more time and attention to his family in Florida.
For the past 16 years, Charlie has been our leader in stewarding and evolving the KyXy brand. He has been a terrific strategist, coach and most of all friend.
All with tremendous effort, enthusiasm and class. Charlie asked that I forward the attached personal note he wrote to all of you. We’re planning on giving Charlie a proper send off one evening, details to follow.
In the meantime, join me in thanking Charlie for all he has done for us and CBS San Diego. Moving forward, I am asking Chris Patyk to oversee both KEGY and KyXy, while looking to Mark Blackwell to take on an even greater role in the day to day programming of KyXy.
