Philly Radio: WPEN-FM Launches Midday Show With Ellis, Mayes


Greater Media/Philadlephia has announced a new midday show on its Sports WPEN 97.5 FM The Fanatic.

The new show featurers veteran Rob Ellis and launches today and will be co-hosted by 97.5 The Fanatic's Harry Mayes.

In April of 2015, Ellis became one of the hosts of Breakfast on Broad on The Comcast Network, 6-8AM weekdays. He will continue to host Breakfast on Broad in addition to his new position with 97.5 The Fanatic.

Ellis worked at ESPN before starting with Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, where he spent 14 years as a producer for Comcast SportsNet's Daily News Live program, winning an Emmy in 2006.

In 2006 Ellis also began working at what was then Sports Radio WPEN 950 AM, co-hosting a nightly show with Harry Mayes. The following year he joined WIP 610 AM and served as a show host until 2015. He also was a sports anchor for CBS-TV3 from 2013-15.

"I grew up a die-hard Philly sports fan, listening to sports talk radio," said Ellis. "It's a life-long dream to be able to do it in Philadelphia on a station with a lineup like 97.5 The Fanatic."
