Lincoln Radio: KFRX Jumps To Remain #1

Top40 KFRX 106.3 FM has finished atop Lincoln’s radio market for the 11th straight time. For Nielsen's Spring'15 rpeorts, KFRX posted an 11.5 average share among listeners ages 12 and older in Nielsen Audio’s Spring 2015 survey, easily outdistancing Country KFGE 98.1 FM Froggy 98 and Classic Rock  KGTL 92.9 FM The Eagle.

KFRX rebounded after slipping below double digits (9.2) during the Fall 2014 survey.

“I’m grateful and blessed to be in this position,” McKay said. “But it’s taken a lot of hard work.”

The Journal-Star reports Lincoln’s commercial radio market is made up of 12 stations, with six owned by Digity (KFRX, KFOR, ESPN 1480, KX 96.9, The Eagle and The Blaze), five owned by NRG Media (KLIN, B107.3, Red 945, Froggy 98 and WOW-FM) and independent sports station The Ticket

Digity's Lincoln stations were among 116 in 26 markets sold last week to Alpha Media.

McKay said KFRX’s ongoing success goes beyond the music played on the station.  “It speaks to our family here, our chemistry as a staff and our involvement in the community,” he said.
