Scott Gaines
Cumulus Media Memphis has announced that veteran Country radio personality Scott Gaines will debut as Afternoon Host of WGKX-FM/KIX 106 Memphis on Tuesday, January 19 from 3:00-7:00 p.m.

Gaines will also assume new duties as on-air personality for the Mainstream Country format syndicated by Westwood One.

He was formerly Afternoon Host of 95.5 NASH Icon in Nashville and was an on-air personality for NASH Icon Country programming syndicated by Westwood One. Prior to that, he held on-air positions on multiple stations in Dallas and Detroit.

Gaines was named “Major Market Personality of the Year” by R&R Magazine. He is a voting member of the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.

Charlie Cook, Corporate Program Director for Cumulus Media said: “Scott Gaines is the consummate Country disc jockey. He loves the music and the artists in the format. He lives the format.”

WGKX Memphis Program Director Duane Shannon said: “I’m excited about Scott’s enthusiasm and the experience he will bring to our staff. Scott has been on-air in Dallas, Detroit and Nashville and has been on hundreds of Country stations coast to coast as part of his network duties on Westwood One. Scott and his wife Candace are looking forward to making Memphis home for many years ahead.”

Gaines said: “I can't even begin to explain the job and the shoes I need to fill. Mark Billingsley's radio equity in the city of Memphis is completely unmatched. I can only hope to do half the job that he did and garner a quarter of the respect."
