Orlando Radio: 'FlyMCO' Launches On 105.1 FM HD2

Orlando International Airport, whichs erves 39 million passengers yearly, is adding a digital radio station to broadcast information and updates.

FlyMCO 105.1HD2 will debut Wednesday on Cbs Radio's WOMX 105.1 FM HD2, with a signal reaching 11 counties on the digital HD radio frequency. Its audio also will be streamed live on the radio.com app as well as OIA's mobile app and website.

In addition to airport info and travel updates, it will also include community news and entertainment, the airport said in a Monday news release.

FlyMCO 105.1HD2 has been created to use the scope and immediacy of mass media to deliver airport information, travel updates, community news and entertainment.

This CBS-affiliated, digital radio station debuts May 18, 2016 and will broadcast around-the-clock, seven days a week. FlyMCO 105.1HD2 is available for free on HD radios throughout 11 counties in Central Florida and can be streamed nationwide through Orlando International Airport’s website, mobile app and the radio.com app.

The station is one of several tech avenues that OIA is using to get information in front of travelers as passenger numbers at the airport are setting records. The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, which runs the airport, recently redesigned its website to automatically optimize its layout depending on whether the user is on a cellphone, tablet or computer.
