McCool spent weeks in the ICU at a local hospital after his accident.
B95/Blakeney Communications management issued the following statement regarding McCool's death:
"Joe McCool of Petal, Mississippi, host of the B95 Breakfast Club, since October 1, 2014 passed away about noon today at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Joe was injured in an automobile accident on I-59 on Tuesday, November 22nd, and had been in the Intensive Care Unit of Forrest General Hospital for the past three weeks. He was unable to overcome his injuries, and passed away earlier today.
We ask for your thoughts and prayers for Joe's wife, Rachael, and his children.Joe was a loving Father & Husband, a dedicated and dependable co-worker & employee and as host of the B95 Breakfast Club, he was always ready, willing & able to serve the community and our listeners.
Joe McCool will be greatly missed by everyone here in the B95 Family. Again, we ask for your thoughts and prayers for Joe's family."
