St. Louis Radio: The Arch Hosts Card Shower For Troop, Vets

St. Louis blew away 106.5 The Arch’s Morning Show “Spencer’s Neighborhood” during their 2016 holiday initiative – “2,000 Cards for the Troops” – with over 13,000 holiday greetings created/collected for hospitalized veterans at St. Louis’ two Veteran’s Administration hospitals/facilities.

Spencer’s Neighborhood’s original goal was at least 2,000 cards and letters for injured heroes, so the veterans would know how much they’re appreciated this holiday season. But 106.5 The Arch listeners and station partners more than rose to the occasion, and delivered 13,641 holiday greetings total!

Spencer’s Neighborhood delivered this bounty of cards and letters to the two VA hospital facilities in St. Louis – Jefferson Barracks and John Cochran facilities.

According to Show host Spencer Graves, “We visited every in-patient veteran in both locations, and we were able to share several holiday greeting cards and letters with each of them, which we hope will brighten their hospital stay.” Graves adds, “We plan on sending the surplus cards and letters to other VA’s, but our primary goal was to visit with and share the cards with our two local facilities and St. Louis veterans first.”

Program Director Scott Roddy comments, “Hubbard Broadcasting and 106.5 The Arch continues our long-standing tradition of giving back to our community lead by LOCAL talent. Spencer’s Neighborhood and all of the on-air Arch Allies supported this campaign on air, online, social and onsite to make sure that our Hometown Heroes know they were not, nor will ever be forgotten.”
