Tampa Radio: Best Wishes To Tedd Webb of WFLA

Tedd Webb
Tedd Webb, the longtime co-host of News Radio 970 WFLA's AM Tampa Bay show, was hospitalized a week ago due to congestive heart failure.

AM Tampa Bay personality Jeff Kuyrkendall said Webb, 68, could be released from St. Joseph's Hospital by Wednesday. But there is no time line for Webb's return to the show, said station manager David Bell.

Webb's cousin Mark Beiro said the heart attack was related to diabetes, though it was not severe enough to land him in the intensive care unit.

Webb had a quadruple bypass operation in 1999 after his first heart attack and since then has struggled with congestive heart failure.

Webb, whose real name is Henry Ruiz, is a Tampa native whose voice has been synonymous with local radio since 1963, according to his official website.

He has been with WFLA since 1983 and now works alongside co-host Jack Harris.

Harris and Webb were recently nominated for the National Radio Hall of Fame.
