D-C Radio: Jill Kempton To Program AC WASH-FM

iHeartMedia Washington, D.C. announced today that Jill Kempton has been named Program Director for WASH 97.1 FM effective December 11.

As Program Director, Kempton will oversee the station brand’s on-air and digital music programming, as well as the station’s participation in community events and promotions with local businesses. She will report to Jeff Kapugi, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Washington, D.C. Region.

“There’s been a lot of momentum on WASH-FM this year and Jill has been a part of that remotely,” said Kapugi. “Now she gets to build on that here in Washington to dominate the very competitive AC format.”

Kempton comes to the Washington, D.C. Region from WLTW in New York, NY where she most recently served as the Assistant Program Director, Music Director and Imaging Director. She spent her first eight years in radio at WBEB in Philadelphia, PA and is a graduate of Temple University.
